Jackson County lies just beyond the outer Bluegrass region on the rim of the Cumberland Plateau.  A large portion of the county lies within the Danial Boone National Forest, which contains some of the most beautiful woodlands and ruggedly scenic areas in the state.  Jackson County is within 600 miles of two-thirds of the U.S. population.

Madison County is one of the fastest growing areas in Kentucky, both in residential and industrial growth. It is unique in that it has two townships, Richmond and Berea. The County sits next to Fayette County with the Kentucky River as its border and is minutes away from Lexington.
